the homies.

A little on the humans behind homieats: we’re sisters with a shared love for food, (cows), and feeding other humans. We grew up in Singapore with Tamil roots, and family scattered across the ocean.

Our upbringing meant we always found ourselves (eating first, and then) creating foods – ideas and concepts flowing in from all directions, but always with a touch of mum’s flavours. And we thought why not make it a thing while bringing together more homies of the ocean.

Because, when food is home, we can all be homies.

homieats wants people to feel home and introduce food to people, to bring us together like we are one. We are standing with asylum seekers and refugees – that’s what I love about it.

One of my friends – her story I remember – she said to me, “While I was in the hotel, I stopped eating food. I am drinking only water and juice.” When she stopped eating, she was sick and went to the hospital for six months. That is why I will try not to make that happen again.
